Print

Use the configured print driver to send print jobs to the Synappx Go print release server. When ready, print all jobs or select specific jobs from the print hold queue on the Synappx Go mobile app.

Background Operation

  1. Ensure the MFP front panel is showing the home screen. Tap the Synappx Go NFC tag on or near the MFP with your phone. 
  2. Select Print Release [View Image]Note: If you chose Release all files as the print default, then the Files Available to Print screen will not display at print time, and all files in your queue will print automatically.
  3. If Select files at print time is your default print setting, you will be able to select individual print jobs. From the Files Available for Print screen, select one or more files to release or select All. Then select Print [View Image].
  4. The app will confirm printing has started and the document will print. The app will return to the Scan, Print and Copy screen upon completion [View Image].

 

Foreground Operation

  1. From your mobile screen, open the Synappx Go app [View Image] [View Image].
  2. Select Document [View Image].
  3. Select Print Release [View Image].
  4. Tap the Synappx Go NFC tag or built-in NFC tag (if supported) with your mobile device [View Image] [View Image].
  5. If Select files at print time is your default print setting, you will be able to select individual print jobs. From the Files Available for Print screen, select one or more files to release or choose All. Then select Print [View Image].
  6. The app will confirm printing has started and the document will print. The app will return to the Scan, Print and Copy screen upon completion [View Image].

There are three ways to select cloud storage files to print to Sharp MFPs.

  • Select from recently modified files
  • Search for files
  • Browse cloud storage folders

Note: Some models may require additional expansion kits.

  • Direct Print Expansion Kit
  • Adobe PostScript 3 Expansion Kit

Synappx Go can print up to ten files across configured cloud storage sites 100MB file size limitation). Files from iCloud, local iOS device storage, and Google Drive have a 30MB file size limit. Supported Google files stored in Google Drive only can be selected for cloud file printing.

*Available only if the MFP supports or is equipped with Adobe PostScript 3 Expansion Kit. **Available only if the MFP supports or is equipped with Direct Print Expansion Kit. ***Google files are converted to Adobe Portable Document Format (PDF) before printing and require the Adobe PostScript 3 Expansion Kit to be installed on the MFP. There may be differences in the printed document compared to the online view.

1.  From the home screen, select Document [View Image].

2.  Select Print Cloud Files  [View Image].

Notes:

  • The Recently Modified list displays files modified within the last 30 days from all configured sites with the most recent files shown at the top.
    • Teams shows files created or modified by you within the last 30 days. Only files you created or modified in Teams folders will display in Recently Modified to print.
    • New file uploads may not be immediately reflected in the Recently Modified list.
    • Files from some configured cloud sites begin to display from the date of first access.
    • SharePoint and Dropbox files are not included in Recently Modified list but can be selected for printing by browsing to the folder with the targeted file(s).
    • iCloud and local files on iOS devices do not appear on the Recently Modified list. Those files are only accessible through the browse feature.

3. The device will load recently modified files from your configured cloud storage folders. Select up to ten files from the cloud folder browsing, search feature, or Recently Modified list. Then select Print [View Image].

4.  Tap the Synappx Go NFC tag or built-in NFC tag (if supported) with your mobile device. The app will confirm printing has started and the document(s) will print [View Image] [View Image].

The app will return to the MFP feature home screen upon completion.

Users can also print cloud files by searching or browsing cloud storage folders with the Share feature. Tapping an NFC tag on an MFP with the Share feature will enable print.

Synappx Go allows you to print files to Sharp MFPs from your email, text messages and other mobile applications.

Supported Mobile Applications

  • Microsoft Outlook and Gmail email attachments
    • Email body messages are not supported for printing.
  • Microsoft Office and Teams
  • Files attached to Apple iMessage and Google Messages
  • File types:
    • Microsoft: Word, PowerPoint, Excel
    • PDF
    • Image files: JPEG, GIF, BMP, PNG, TIFF (not supported for text attachment)
    • Some capabilities are limited. See supported file types in Print Cloud Files.
  • The file name shown in Synappx Go may differ from the original file name.
  • Mobile phones use a variety of viewers to open files. The default file viewers for Outlook and Gmail are verified for iOS and Android. For Microsoft Office file viewing, it is recommended to download the Microsoft Office mobile app.
  • For text attachments, file size limits vary based on carrier.  Check limits for your texting app.

Note: Other mobile email systems, viewers, and applications may work.

Examples show iOS unless stated otherwise. Files are printed one at a time.

1.  Open the application and select the file. The file will open in the mobile viewer.

2.  iOS: Select the share icon. Then select Share File via… 

Android: Select the Share icon [View Image] [View Image] [View Image].

3.  Select Synappx Go [View Image] [View Image].

4.  Tap the MFP NFC tag [View Image].

5.  A print settings page will prompt you to proceed to print with the current print defaults or change the settings by selecting the gear icon. Select Print to proceed. A confirmation page will show the file printing [View Image] [View Image].

Example below shows iOS screen. One file at a time can be selected to print. 

1.  Open the text and select the file. The file will open in the mobile viewer. 

2.  iOS: Select the share icon . Then select Share File via…   

Android: Select the Share icon.

3. The rest of the steps and screens are the same as printing email attachments (see section above) [View Image]
